EVIL ORNAMENT ATTACK OH THE HUMANITY!

Spooky Hollow has been over run by evil little toe biting spooks that like to hang out on feather trees! HELP ME I don't have much time left! Grimmy is coming at me with a butter knife!

Halloween ornaments 2011!

Grimmy and his buddies are all over the place and taking over Spooky Hollow! I am hiding under my desk with my laptop writing this blog....! It is complete chaos! Evil spooks are flying by making tiny evil growls and freaky high pitched laughs! They are hanging off my hair, ears and nose! ONE WENT IN MY NOSE!

Oh the humanity!!!

Art pens are being tossed through the air! Monster paint foot prints are everywhere! Even my dogs are hiding because Grimmy snuck up on one and tried to ride him like a horse! When they're not trying to bite my toes they are hanging from my ceiling lamp trying to electrocute each other!!! I think I'm next! Grimmy found my doll collection and is popping off the heads, tossing them to skelley who is eating them! OH NO! They found the glue gun! I don't know how long I can stay safe so I need your help!

I listed each one of these evil boogers in my Etsy shop! There are block head ornaments, clay and chenille ornaments and even new monster dolls. All of which are trying to drag me from under my desk as I type! These ornament spooks are multiplying like rabbits so there is a great selection of little insane minions in my Etsy shop.

So you wanna illustrate!

I made a post on facebook of the picture above telling folks to practice their art! Then I thought, Hey why not blog about it so here I am!

Just some ideas and items I use to create my characters.
OK, some things that really help
GET A LIGHT BOX!

Say you make a character and it turned out awesome. You might not be able to create him the exact way you did before. Place the paper with your character on the light box...put the new paper on top and trace!

If you like you can trace a completed illustration so if you sell one you still basically have it if you want to recreate it. There are tons of uses for a light box. Google it for lots of other ideas.

Never EVER copy someone else's work. That is just simple ethics. Protect your work! Get a copyright and I also upload every art piece to copyright deposit. It was the best money I ever spent. I even have the name Grimmy protected! I do lol!

Good lighting! I use like 3 lamps at once lol. I need really good light when I draw. I have my eye on a wonderful artist lamp. If you can afford it go to Walmart and buy and art desk. You can adjust it so it tips just right when you draw.

Pens.

An art friend told me about Pigma Micron pens. BUY SOME! They are ultra fine archival ink. Permanent and never bleed. You can buy them online or Walmart even carries some!
I have them in all colors and sizes. I also use vintage and even antique quill and fountain pens with good old fashioned ink. These are really fun to work with once you know how to keep them from smearing. I use India Ink.

Pencils.

The best pencils to use are your basic number 2 lead pencils. Very easy to erase leaving no annoying pencil lines.

Erasers.

I use gummy erasers. They are my fave but Hi polymer erasers are just a good. They are usually white in color. I use these because they leave no smudge marks. All very cheap!

Markers.

My faves are Faber Castell and pigma. I use these for cartoons more the illustrations. You will be spending a bit of money on these but they are worth it.

Paper.

My fave is thick Strathmore watercolor paper. Great for ink and watercolor illustrations.

I use Velum paper for the use of pigma markers and of course you need some tracing paper.

If I am making a new character I get a piece of watercolor paper. Doodle him in pencil and then trace the doodle in ink. Erase the pencil and color him in. It's fun and addicting try it lol. Some people really get exact with this. They draw the image on regular paper. Put it on the light box. Trace it using tracing paper and then put the tracing paper under the new paper and trace again. This is way too much work for me!

When done get your camera and put it on the macro setting. Take a pic and there ya go! Great for prints!

Come up with your own unique style. Something only you can do! If you want to get a book published trust me they want totally original work.
Pick up some how to books. There are tons out there and I found mine on Amazon and ebay.
You can even buy some videos with instructions and techniques. Never stop learning!

DOODLE DOODLE DOODLE
Practice at least once a week. Pick up some old children's book and really study techniques.
If you are not sure how to draw a body position like someone waving use google images. Find a similar position for reference. Another trick is to hide the character behind something. Let's say you can't make feet. Hide him behind a bush lol!

Keep a library of ideas and references. Magazine photos, things like that. Let's say you want to draw a frog but you can't seem to do it from memory. Trust me not many people can! Find a page with a frog..cut it out and keep it in a folder.

These are just a few Ideas I have about illustration.
I am self taught with some art classes under my belt so I am sure there are may tips and tricks I don't even know about, but when it comes to basics...

New Halloween Charm bracelet! 40 charms!

I just finished a new Halloween Spooky Hollow character charm bracelet! The focal is Ooky the monster. The bracelet is done in antiqued brass findings and has beautiful lamp work beads. The orange beads are shimmering Czech fire polished beads! It is loaded with charms and there are some little coin charms that are hard to see in the photo. It measures 8 inches long and is adjustable. I plan on listing it in Etsy but if anyone would like to purchase it before I do email me at folkartist@spookyhollow.net. The price is 48.00 and if you compare the price to other bracelets with less charms that is a wonderful deal for hand made art!

Pc Killer Virus Help!

Save your computer tip!

Last year while do a search for a knitting pattern in yahoo I was hit with a horrible virus that basically killed my pc.

I bought a laptop which I love but I lost all of my personal photos on my old pc. Even some art print photos. When I opened the page that I thought was a knitting pattern it launched this fake anti virus scan and it scans really fast asking you to click yes or no to continue. I thought it really was my anti virus program and clicked a fake pop up that said cancel scan. That was the end of my pc.

Yesterday like a dummy I searched for a printable sign for my son's birthday party. The oh so familiar fake virus scan started again. This time I realized it was fake and quickly turned off my laptop. When I restarted it and opened windows the page with the fake virus scan came up but this time there was no scanning. I went to my end task menu and got the page to close. I did a real virus scan and thankful by shutting off the pc fast and then ending the page with my task manager I am virus free. I thought my experience might help others who stumble upon this pc killer virus. When it hit last year not even Norton could get rid of it. It is the worst pc virus around.

So, if you happen to click on a web page and suddenly there is a virus scan...it's a virus. Turn off you pc and restart fast. Don't click anything!. If the window pops up with the fake scan go to your task manager and a safe window will pop up. ( the task manager is in your start menu ) There will be list of everything running on your pc including all the web pages that you have open. Find the page with the virus and end task. This will close the evil page! Do a full virus scan after and you will beat the virus. I wish I would have known this last year. I hope this helps and I explained it in a way that you can understand.

Now I back up my pc by using a little thumb drive. they are small and you can insert them into your computers usb drive. ( the place where you plug in your mouse and printers ) I move all my photos and files to this little thumb drive. You can also back up your computer online. ) Please do this!!!

Psssst....Fat head snowman inside!

I finally got this cutie finished so I listed him on Ebay as an auction! His head is sewn and painted and he sits on a really cool Victorian reproduction block. It's big! This is not a little guy. He is 13 inches high and 6 inches across! His party hat is made of paper and he shimmers with fine glitter in the light. Before I attached his head to the block my son and I played catch with it! It tosses great! hehe...

No don't worry his head is attached to the block and it won't fall off. Not unless you pretend you are Lizzy Borden this Halloween and you hack it off! If you do that then you are just weird!! BAHAHAHAHHA!

Can you tell I haven't had much sleep this week???? My eye baggies have baggies!

So anyway! Go bid on this one of a kind snowman make do doll thingy! He's cute! Oh and there is a lot of detail on the face with beautiful pink and blue shading! I LOVE PINK!

I don't sew very often so this might be the only snowman doll I will make this year!

Why won't my dog go into the basement????

Spooked out alert! Today since the weather is so nice I decided it would be a good day to tackle cleaning the basement. If you are like me the basement is the very last room to be cleaned. Especially since my basement is right out of the movie a Haunting in Connecticut! No kidding a friend sent me the movie just to show me how much it looked like the basement in this famous haunted house! It even has those really large sinks in one room. This is a farm so maybe they were for something farm related but I have no idea what this house was used for about 50 years ago. The last owners were here for about 50 years. The house was moved from the city to the country and the basement belonged to a house that burned down....all I know..

I went down with mop, cleaner and bucket and of course turned the little basement TV on. ( Yes there is a TV in the basement hehe ) After burning my eyes out with bleach vapors I realized that my dog Scooby wasn't by my side. She is always at least 3 feet away from me or closer because she needs dog prosaic. I looked around and heard her crying. I went to the stairs and there she was looking down at me crying with the hair up on her back. She never does that! If you scroll down on the blog somewhere you will find my true ghost story about this house. About a month ago the spooky events in my home got so bad I had 2 ghost hunter friends help me out and tell me what to do. I did everything they asked and ever since no unexplainable events thank God. But today when I came downstairs this morning my kitchen cabinets were open again. They haven't done that in over a month. Then my dog who follows me everywhere was crying and freaked out at the top of the stairs. Needless to day I finished cleaning in lightning speed.

When we first moved in the dogs would not go into the basement period. Not even if we offered them a treat. Later after I ran around the house with a smudge stick yelling get out lol....they had no problem going into the basement. If this ghost thing is coming back I am MAKING my ghost hunter pal come help me.

Hopefully my dog didn't like the smell of bleach lol.

I will fill you in on the final spooky straw that made me run to my ghost hunter friends. You can choose to believe it or choose to think I'm nuts. I'm ok with either one lol.

At the time this last event happened I had very scary things happening that I have already blogged about but a fast description is...knocks on my bedroom door and coming from inside the closet, My hair pulled, a scratch on my closet door and then it opened. ( that one made me run downstairs faster then the roadrunner...BEEP BEEP..
Cabinets opening randomly, bangs from the basement, a mans voice coming from one of the down stairs bathrooms...
But the night I couldn't take anymore I was sound asleep in my bed. I woke up to scratching right by my head. It sounded like 2 cats scratching on a scratching post. The only problem was there was not a cat in the room. I even saw my dog sniffing at the corner of the bed the scratching was coming from. I ran downstairs and slept on the couch after I calmed down. There was NO explanation for the scratching. NONE....no animals. We even checked the bedroom closet out for places where a larger animal could get through. Not a single hole. If you look at my mattress 3 corners are fine and the corner that was by my head and had the scratching noise is all tore up! THIS IS TRUE!!!!!!!

The next day my friends told me what to do to get rid of it and so far it has been bliss. Today didn't feel that blissful but then again since everything that happened I am really jumpy. I jump when the toast pops up! LOL

So...wish me luck that my dog didn't sense something in the basement! I am probably being paraniod due to the bleach fumes and dust mites that flew up my nose!

stupid blog jabber after the photos!

Pregnant Grimmy??

As promised here are the finished pumpkins and Snowmen! It is kind of funny how I got all these done today. This morning I looked at my clock and it said 6 am. So I decided to get up before everyone else did so I had some alone time with my coffee cup. I walked downstairs, made my coffee and turned on Fright Fest on AMC. I then turned on my pc to check my email. I looked at the computer clock and gasped. 4 am! I got up at 4 am! NOOOOOO! When I checked my bedroom clock the time was correct so basically I need to wear my glasses to bed lol. I could have had 2 more precious hours of sleep! Now my day is all out of whack because I am a creature of habit plus I'm tired! Last night I stayed up late watching the ghost adventure team yell at ghosts and call them stupid! ( not sure if that method of ghost hunting is smart! ) I would be like...hey ghosts...please don't hurt me! One day soon i will catch folks up on my ghost story. What I will say now is I was on the fence about ghosts until this year. I am a total no doubt believer. Anywho I got off the subject. AGAIN! I have the attention span of a flea.

Ok...My little buckets are finished. 3 snowmen and 2 pumpkins. I also made a very different looking Grimmy just because. It started out as a ghost and I messed up so this is a weird tall Grimmy with a very fat stomach. Either that or he is going to have a baby Grimmy. Hey I don't know how 3 inch grim reapers reproduce!

Again I am off track!!

My pumpkins are about 4 inches high and 3 inches wide and will be in my Ebay and Etsy shops. I am going to get some listed right after this blog.

Make a poor man Paper clay pumpkin pail!

Seriously weird Paper clay Pumpkin pail instructions!

When I first started to make clay creations I really couldn’t find many how to articles or videos. I thought some of the things I have learned by trial and error would make a cool blog post. Trust me I have destroyed many a clay doll or sculpt in my time!

So here are some paper clay tips that I have learned. I am totally self taught so some tips might sound ridiculous! Folk artist does mean a self taught artist! Nothing wrong with being self taught! Many a famous RICH artist were self taught!

Ok….

1. The best clay I think you should start out with is of course ….paper clay brand name Creative. It costs about 9 - 11 dollars for a 16 oz package. You can buy this at Michael’s, Hobby lobby and other craft stores or you can purchase it via eBay.

2. One thing I didn’t realize for like 6 months is that you can bake it in the oven at 200 or even on warm..DERR! I can be stupid like that. If you use the warm setting you can gently dry it with little or no cracks but I am getting ahead of myself here.

3. Tools. Omgosh I can’t stress enough that you don’t have to buy expensive tools if you can’t really afford it. I should know because I think I am one of the thriftiest Folk artists around due to being poor lol!
I use paint brushes for gentle shaping, a wood carving tool because I just happened to have one laying around the house, q-tips & finger nail files, A sharp pokey thing that puts the holes in hand made beads. ..( My terms are so professional huh?!) I also use old vintage dip pens for fine detail, …anything just randomly within reach because I am lazy like that!
Heck I raid our barn for tools!

( Quick tip…keep coffee way out of reach or you WILL dip your brushes in it. Or am I the only one nuts enough to make this dreaded error! ) Death by coffee clay is not pretty.

If you are half blind like me you might want to put your glasses on. ( My glasses are pitiful due to the dog eating them one night. ) I also need 3 bright lights to see what I am doing… ANYWAY….

This how to can also be used to make a snowman pail.

Materials needed:

Paper clay, DUH
Wax paper,
Small bowl of water, or a cup…Just don’t place the water in your hands…it spills like that..hehe
Glitter ..optional

Paint brush flat and fine tip
Wire & wire cutters
Paper towel, ( I get super messy. Probably because of my half eaten glasses. )
Exacto tool or a sharp kitchen knife
…( Don’t run with pointy objects )
Or whatever you can find around the house to sculpt with. Please don’t use your cat.
Reynolds wrap
Styrofoam ball medium size. Not dinky not huge ( makes about a 4 inch pail )
Something to roll out the clay with. Rolling pin or even a marker.
There are more expensive tools but this is my cheap way! I use the marker because again, I am lazy like that!

Step one: Remember I am giving you the easiest way I know. This is how I used to make pails or little trick or treat buckets when I first started experimenting.
( Do not use a real pumpkin…your buyers will get really mad! ) J~

Take the Styrofoam ball and cut off the top just like you would with a real pumpkin.

Scoop out the guts. I use a wood carving tool but you can also just scrape the insides with a knife and break the pieces out. Try to make the ball thin but not too thin that you might make a hole.

Set the scooped out ball aside. You will be wearing some Styrofoam bits. This is normal..hehe

Take a glob of paper clay.. ( again So technical terms! ) heh
Roll it pretty flat but not paper thin on the wax paper. Less stick age that way!

Place your ball on the clay in the center.

Score the clay…( take a knife and make little cuts in a circle around the ball so the clay is easier to apply.

At this point don’t wet the clay! Just use your fingers to squish the clay on all around the ball blending it together for a smooth surface. Make sure you have enough to squish in the inside. Now roll the ball between your hands smoothing the clay all the way around. Make sure you have enough clay at the top of the ball so you can squish it inside the pail.. Sort of like a pie crust! Stick your finger inside the ball and smooth the clay around the inside. You might have to cut a few strips of clay to fill the inside of the ball completely. Just smooth it all around with your finger. ( you don’t need this perfectly smooth…if you look at most folk art you will see bumps left there to get a vintage clay look.

Now that you have all the clay on the ball inside and out ( hopefully a kind of thin layer ) push your pail down to form a flat bottom. You want your pail to sit well.

If you like use a flat small paint brush, dip it in water and smooth out your pumpkin! Play with it a bit…with a little bit of water you can make a beautiful smooth surface!

Ok here is the fun part! Use the end of a pencil or the handle of you exacto knife and push it into the top part of the pail for eyes! Or make triangles for a spookier look!

Take a small piece of wire and stick it into the pail where you want your nose to be. Take a little ball of clay and work with it until you have a little carrot nose.
Stick the nose to the wire. If you like you can use a wet paint brush and go around the nose so it sticks better. You can also gently shape the nose this way.

The mouth..
Same thing as the eyes! Find anything laying around that you can press into the clay for small circles. I use the end of my beading tool but you can use anything you can think of to make the desired size holes for your mouth. I like to make 7 dots so the middle one is centered.
I have even used a crochet hook before!

Or carve the spooky mouth like the photo!

Don’t forget to poke a hole on either side of the pumpkin for the wire handle!

Now really look your pumpkin over. Is is shaped like a pumpkin? Do you want to add detail like lines or eyebrows….anything your imagination can think of!
Is the inside smoothed with clay so the Styrofoam doesn’t show?
( One trick I use to get the Styrofoam smooth before adding clay is using a heat gun. ( embossing gun you can buy at Wal-Mart Martha Stewart brand .)

You are ready to bake!
Place your art on a cookie sheet. ( Yes your pumpkin is art! You created it with love and detail. This is art! ) Don’t let anyone tell you different. Crafting and art in my mind are just about one in the same! Ok , now If you did the bottom right on your pumpkin it won’t flop over.
I have killed many art pieces by letting them plop or forgetting about them in the oven because the dog barfed or something.

Turn your oven to 200 if you would like the pumpkin to dry quicker. You can risk cracks if you do it at this temp and forget to take it out of the oven like I do!. Also if you leave it in over an hour you Styrofoam might melt!

So lets say you used warm for about 4 hours. Take out your pumpkin pail and let cool. Make sure it is completely dry or you can risk cracking or even mold!

Once it is cool PAINT!!!
You can use acrylics and just have fun with it!!

After the paint is dry you can choose between a glossy or matte finish. I do both. I think they are equally pretty but many people prefer a matte finish for clay art.

Let dry!

( Oh some people paint the pumpkin with acrylic gesso first. I don’t because I think the color is prettier with out the gesso. )

You can go wild on your pumpkin! Use acrylics, watercolors or oil! It’s your call.

Now you need the wire for the handle. I have a wire curler but you don’t need that!
Wrap the wire around a pencil then gently pull is so it will fit your pumpkin.
Place the ends in the holes you made and fold the wire in the inside down.

There you have it! A sweet little Halloween pumpkin pail! ( or it could be a snowman pail! )

You can also add tinsel, tinsel pipe cleaners, crepe paper collars, glitter…again have fun.!

Some important rules.
DON’T COPY ANYONE ELSES ART!

Why?
The artist will hate you! Lol
You could get a bad reputation in the folk art world.
But mainly you need your own style to stand out from the rest!

Tell your worst & best Halloween stories! mine is disgusting beware

Hey everyone! I wanted to do something different. Obviously I love Halloween! I thought it would be fun to share your best or worst Halloween experiences. I will be brave and start.

Good:

When I was in 4th grade we didn't have a lot of money so my mom pulled whatever she could find around the house to make me a costume for my school Halloween party. My dads old flannel shirt, straw from the garden, an old Halloween mask, a big floppy hat ...with this mish mush of finds she made me into a Scarecrow. I was dropped off at the Halloween party ( I was in the 4th Grade ) and I saw all these really cool expensive costumes. Then there was a contest for best and scariest costumes. I WON! To me that was the best thing ever. I got a ribbon and some Halloween candy shaped like an eyeball. To me that was the best Halloween ever. This was also a great Halloween because this boy, Willie Bear ( yes that was his name ) Came up to me and made fun of my costume. I sneezed in his face. This was not intentional but effective. He was so grossed out his mom had to come pick him up. I had a cold at the time that is all I'm going to say about that lol! BEST Halloween...willie Bear got slimmed. Later Willie Bear became my little boyfriend but he cheated on me with Jane Schmitke. He got both of us cracker jack rings but that is another story! ( Willie Bear also said his uncle was Evil Kenevil and he had a talking squirrel. ) Hmmmm.

Now the worst.

I think I was in 6th grade. We went to a friend of my parents house for a Halloween party. That year I was a witch again mostly made from things around the house excluding the hat. We sat in the dark while one of the adults told a scary story passing around bowls of disgusting things.

The eyes were peeled grapes, the brains were spaghetti noodles, the severed fingers were peeled carrots and so on. Being in 6th grade I had no idea what these really were and was terrified. After this oh so yucky but spooky fun game we bobbed for apples. When it was my turn...I bobbed..nothing...bobbed nothing...

3rd bob....I puked in the barrel of apples. I wanted to die. Come to find out the next day I had a fever. I never bobbed for apples again. Then it happened...the nickname,

Charmin Carmen because that is what they handed me after the incident...that name stuck for at least a year...Charmin Carmen don't squeeze the Charmin! Whenever I saw Mr. Whipple I would run to my room.

Ok that is my most embarrassing and life altering ( hehe) Halloween worst moment.

It's finally here! Just in time for Halloween! We have been working on this for what seems like forever! It was really hard to stay quiet about! Before I say what it is I want one of you to win one! Spooky Hollow finally has a little hardback Coffee table book filled with my art and the best of Grimmy! 50 full color pages! It is like having lots of little prints of my work. The book measures 7 by 7 and will be available in soft or hardcover! Some of my very favorite Spooky Hollow pieces of art are inside! Big eyed Grimmy had to be on the cover! Tomorrow I will tell you more about it and how to purchase one. I can also sell you a signed copy if you like but for now I want to give away one hard covered signed book! Halloween season has hit already for me and everything clay I have listed has sold. Seriously if you see something you like you might want to get it soon. I am not saying that to get sales....They are really going fast. I am trying to keep up with making new dolls and clay!

I listed 4 dolls last weekend...they all sold but like I said I have new items I am completing almost daily. Most are going to be listed in Ebay. I cut my store down due to fees so I can list the new items without getting slammed with fees. I also have art dolls that I wont list until closer to Halloween. There are lots of items in my Etsy shop also. You can find my shop to the right of this post.

I am also making a very limited amount of Halloween bracelets.

In my next blog I have new spooky house things to tell you! btw...my farm ghost stories are real things that are happening in our house...ghost or no ghost the last event scared me. I am still freaked out.

Oh heck I will tell you now...about a week after the closet episode I was going to bed and honest to goodness I felt my hair lift and drop. I have long hair. This scared me big time. I was standing in my room with nothing but the ceiling above me. I didn't open my closet door since the day it happened until today. I have had it barricaded with a large suit case lol...You would too! If you missed it it was about 5 am and I was doing my hair in my bedroom..I heard scratching in my closet and then the door opened about 2 inches. The sweater I had hanging on the door started to sway back and forth. It is a heavy knit sweater that belonged to my dad. The scratching sounded like a dog pawing at the door. Today I searched for any holes where an animal could get through and found nothing. The cat food was untouched and there were no animal droppings. You tell me what scratched the door and opened it. No cats were in the room...Then My hair being pulled up and dropped. What caused that I don't know but it scared me so badly I slept with the light on. I was so freaked I called a ghost hunter friend today to get his opinion and he thinks I do have a ghost. I always think twice about posting this because of people thinking I am nuts or lying...its true and I cant explain either event. I am not looking forward to sleeping tonight but my rational mind says do it. Last night I had a really bad dream. The kind of dream that you know you are dreaming but can't move. It was very realistic and scared me to death. It was so real I had to sit up for about an hour with the lights on again. I am too embarrassed to tell it to the world but it was the most frightening dream I have ever had in my life. My mind keeps trying to find a rational reason for all the things that are happening and I could until now. I hope the dream was just a dream. Ok now that I freaked myself out again...new subject lol If someone else told this story I probably would not believe them until it happened to me.

( btw the barn ghost video was me being silly. The story above really happened. )

I had the creepiest thing happen..about 4 nights ago while I was in bed I heard a loud thud. I didn't think much of it. It sounded like it came from my closet but I figured it came from the bathroom. Then the morning before last I was in my bedroom doing my hair and I heard a kind of scratching noise coming from the closet. The door opened slightly and the sweater I had hanging on it swayed back and forth. this Freaked me out. I got the courage much later lol to open the closet all the way but shoved my dog in first. She had no reaction at all. I moved things around with a stick and can not find where an animal could have snuck in. Then last night right after I went to bed another loud thump. I am totally baffled and a little spooked. I could be an animal that got in some how but I don't see where and this was not a mouse. It had to be larger to open the door like that and a mouse couldn't cause the thumps. We have had a good share of spooky in this house so I don't know what to think. Last night I barricaded the door and I put a little cat food in there to see if it gets eaten...EEP! I am more afraid of a critter in there then a spook lol!!!

Hey everyone! Hope you had a great weekend. I did. I played in the garden and gushed because I didn't kill my gourds! I even have pumpkins growing! I'm sick of all the cucumbers though!

I wanted to tell you guys about this weeks ebay auction. I am donating to Make a wish for Children 25 percent of the sale. The bid starts at only a penny. This cause means a lot to me. I am so thankful that I have 4 healthy children. When my little one was born I was terrified. His platelets were low and they had to keep him. They had me so scared telling me that he might have cancer. Thank God within a week his platelets went up on their own. To this day I baby him and get afraid something will happen. I hope you bid and tell your friends. If this goes well next week I will donate 100 percent!

Sir Boo A lots Boo Car! It really roles is made mostly of paper clay and paper mache and the mouse is the steering wheel! he is not happy about that at all!

Many moons ago I had a candle shop. Well...I got BURNED OUT! Ouch..sorry!
Lately though I have been in a clean my house and make it smell good mode so..I dusted off my tart stuff and ordered new supplies.

They grow in our woods!! :)~

Praying for our Country

I have a wonderful friend that many of you know or have heard of, Flora Thompson of Bone Head Studios.
She is putting together a prayer group with the main purpose of praying for our country. I told her that I would love to help find people who would like to participate. The post below was written by Flora. She is a wonderful woman wanting wonderful things for our country and I am proud to help pass this on. Thanks for taking the time to read this and God bless you!

"I am anxious to do this, to get this going, so I will send out emails today
informing those that emailed in private and am now posting for those that commented here and on FaceBook.
I am setting the time for July 1st at about 7:00 pm for our moment of prayer,each day for a week. This is Central time, so make sure to set your clocks accordingly for those of you who are on different time zones.
A very kind, new FaceBook friend of mine figured out the times zones for everyone, how sweet was that?!!!!So here they are below

If it is 7pm central time, it will be 8pm eastern time, 3pm pacific time, and 5pm mountain time.

We can state our intentions prior to saying our prayers, which is for America's healing and to guide our leaders to make the right decisions for the good of it's people.

To my Christian friends I am suggesting to use " The Lords Prayer" if you are familiar with it.
Because I have many friends, not all of whom are Christians, who have stated that they would still like to participate. I think that as long as your prayers are of good will and healing please use them.
This was also suggested by a friend of mine ,for the conclusion of our prayers

May the lord bless you and keep you and may his light shine on you always,Amen

So I am going to offer it to y'all too,
Maybe we could even do this one week every month...or add this intention to our daily/nightly prayers too?

Lightning storm video!

this is really worth watching. I filmed it the other night during our storm. I honestly had never seen this much lightning before. I added some music so you couldnt hear a few tiny curse words when I got scared lol! Yes I stood outside LIKE AN idiot to film this! Enjoy!

Iddy Biddy Creepy & Blogger FIX

I have no idea why but this past week I had the urge to sew. This is NOT normal for me at all lol. After poking my fingers 20 times and re doing the legs about 20 times I came up with what I call Little bit Creepy. She is about 8 inches high and just weird looking lol! It was really fun though so today I am going to just try to sew a cute doll dress.
No I am not going totally prim on everyone but there has always been a little prim luving goin on in my world for years. A long time ago I would sew bunnies and cats for craft shows. ( GASP ) lol! We are talking at least 15 years ago!

Now onto Bloggers new TEMPLATES....

I HATE the new blogger designs. I found out the hard way that you don't hit the big orange button lol! By hitting the button that I think says add to blog I lost my old template. THANK goodness for facebook because the nice folks there gave me a link so I can fix it when I have more time. If you goofed too here is the help link!

Oh on a different subject,a funny thing happened to me this morning. While I was working in the yard a car pulled up filled with Jehovah's witnesses. They came up to me to give me some books and our black tom cat Jerry decided he liked this man so much he climbed up his leg and then jumped into his arms. The man was wearing what looked to be a very expensive suit!
I scolded Jerry but inside had to giggle because that is what you get when you don't call first to come over to my house heheh!

OK I'm off to finish some Halloween artsy things but here are some pics I took
this morning of my art. I went out to the barn and I was really happy
with how they turned out! Oh before that ....

Ghost Feather Tree ornie- nodder

I so forgot to show you guys this ghosty listing. You get 2...TWo! OOAK hand sculpted feather tree ornies. One is 3 baby ghosts peeking out of a pumpkin on a little wooden wagon. The other ornie is mom with a rusty spring ( from our barn ) nodder type neck. Both ornies are made of paper clay and have antique brass findings so you can hang them on a tree or sit them on a shelf. They are sweet and one of a kind!

Wonderland & who's payng attention? LOL

Hello Blogger friends! Oh my gosh I got so much done this week and today! I just listed 5 new art goodies in my Ebay shop! If you go look there is one new Larger painting that I honestly love called Wonderland. I did it with lots of different inks and my Opa's ( grandpas ) antique Russian Watercolors. I wish you could see it in person! I also got a little Grimmy Owl lover ACEO finished up and listed. The clay - paper mache Grimmy owl lover is all done and he is about 14 inches high! If you follow me or Grimmy Reaper on facebook you will recognize him because he married Alan Cunningham's beautiful Doll house doll he sent Grimmy as a gift and bride lol! There is also a clay Grimmy who is quoting Hamlet...he even holds poor Yorick in his little boney hands! Then you will find 2 ornaments in ONE auction! It is ghosty and her babies. Ghosty is a clay ornie nodder! Her neck is an antique spring from our barn. The babies and pumpkin are on a tiny wooden wagon. I think there is more but right now my brain is fried! When I wasn't finishing up art, shipping out art, making new art I was taking care of a sick child and pulling weeds until the cows come home. I HATE WEEDS! I think I lost 10 lbs just from pulling weeds! TRy it it works lol!
I also want to see who really reads my blog posts....So...

I just stink at networking. Facebook is fun and easy for me but for some reason I get all confused with the Ebay groups. I find the posts confusing but then again in the 80's I used to bleach my hair a lot and I think it seeped into my brain.
Funny I just bought some bleach highlight stuff..maybe I shouldn't use it!
Ok..gonna shut up now, post some pictures of new work that is listed and then fall over!
