Lucky Von Frankenbunny & Grimmy Cupid plus!

HI!!! I am so sorry it has taken me so long to blog! Lately my head has just been full of ideas and if you don't see me on facebook or blogging you know I am creating new Pieces! Along with my art I have been on a crocheting and knitting kick lately hehe! With keeping up with my family and this big old house and doing all my art and hobbies it doesn't leave me much time for networking. I have so much to tell you guys and show you I am not sure where to start! I should save some stuff for another blog this week. I am going to play blog catch up! Well let's start with 2 new pieces that I finally got listed in my Ebay store! First there is .....Grimmy CUPID! Grimmy is all dressed up for Valentines day! He is sporting a diaper...hehe, bow and arrow, big feather angel wings, a heart banner, lots of little detail and he has 2 wormies hanging on him! One on his shoulder and one on his leg. The one on his leg has a party hat heheheh! I had fun making this one! You can bid or buy him now here CLICK HERE Oh he is about 14 inches high! Not tiny that is for sure!
Now onto....

LUCKY VON FRANKENBUNNY!!!! I wrote a really good description of him in my ebay listing. I really hope you take the time to read it! Just some quick details are....real antique square nails used for electrodes and things..hehe,
Copper wire, vintage 1930 newspaper was used for his ears and get this....

I did his ears paper mache style and let them dry. I did not notice what one ear said until the next day! One ear says Demon and I totally did not do that on purpose! I thought that was so freaky I would leave the ears just like they are lol. So I didn't paint them as planned. Do you think Frankenbunny was trying to tell me something? GULP! This is the piece that made my husband laugh out loud! Lucky has a hand made TOE tag on his Lucky bunny foot, a key that you can remove on his back and BUNNY BRAINS! Like I said please read more about how I came up with him at my Ebay listing above!

I am also way into making art cards! I am going to show you lots of pics of what I am talking about here in a bit. I use my sewing machine and prints of my work to make really cool hand made cards. I am going to list them as soon as I get more done! They are so fun to make!

I am also ALMOST done with my new painting called Dark Ride! Gonna give you another sneak peek of that one today too!

Last but not least I have to show off my granny square scarf! I made my first knitted scarf and NO ONE TOLD ME THEY CURL if you use the k1 then p1 pattern! Now I have to block the sucker...I have found out that I am way better at crochet then knitting but now I have to get knitting perfect or I won't be happy! I have too many hobbies help me lol!

OH OH OH and This spring will be greenhouse time! Pretty soon I am going to go in one of the greenhouses with the camera and give you a tour. A before and after I hope! I can't wait until the weather gets warmer!

Did I cover everything??

NO I DIDNT!

I am going to list the contest winners in the next blog this week. Maybe even tomorrow! I just love some of the names you guys came up with but to be fair I am picking winners by the pulling names out of a hat method. I will also let you know what names I will be using for the new characters in my last painting that sold.

If you would like a print of that painting you can also find it in my Ebay store along with lots of other prints from past work. I think I only have one Original left in there! My winter mice and snowman painting sold this weekend.

Soon I will be offering Spooky Hollow Greeting cards!!! So much to do so little time lol. My home page will also be getting a creepy cute make over. I am saving money for that right now.
One last update that I will tell you more about soon is This August I was invited to attend the Canada American Paranormal convention. I will have a booth there and would love to meet you guys if you come out. More details on that later. I do plan on doing a show or 2 here in the states this year also. One I would like to do locally actually here on the farm and the other one i was just invited too so I am still finding out info. Will give you dates and times as soon as I know them.
This is going to be such a fun and exciting year for Spooky Hollow!!!

Have fun browsing the photos and I LOVE it when you post and talk with me!

( I thought this was kinda funny.....I have been really into making cards and I found this card I gave my mom when I was only 9. I AM STILL playing with glue and making my a's backwards lol!

Hugs!

Name the spook COntest & Exciting updates!

Good Morning everyone! Yes I am up bright and early today...well I get up around 5 am every day! Don't ask why I just do hehe! Hey I wanted to show you my new painting and the first one I have done this year! My first 2010 Painting! I listed it up for auction/sale in myhttp://stores.ebay.com/Spooky-Hollow-Folk-Art but I wanted to share some photos here and tell you about a new contest I have! In this painting I have the old spooks you know and love but I have a few new ones! Ok here are the old ones,
Grimmy Reaper son of Grim,
Skelley Skeleton,
Sir Boo A lot
Salem the black cat,
Nostrocuteness the vegetarian vampire,
The new guy Wormy best friend of Grim,
Haggatha the tiny witch...

Now here are the new guys and they need names!

Big green monster guy
Medusa looking woman
tiny skeleton with one x for an eye
tiny little zombie guy by Grimmy
Ghost flying under the embossed spider web,

Did I miss anyone????

These creeps need names! So this is what you do!

Just post the names you like here at the blog! Anyone who enters a name will be entered to win a Canvas paper print of this painting and some surprises along with it! The print would be a nice 8 by 10 ready to frame! I would also sign and date it and add a creepy cute gift to go with it!

So start submitting names!

Also about the painting. It is mixed media and I mean mixed! I used Russian opaque water colors, watercolor brush pens, acrylics, embossing, ( The bats and Spider web and other goodies here and there are embossed. If you run your finger over it you can feel the rise of the ink. It looks so cool in person! ) I also love to add just a touch of sparkle or bling to my work. I painted it on a really thick Strathmore Cold press watercolor paper. Perfect for framing btw! I also added some glitter here and there and Rhinestones. It is a big 11 by 15!!
So before I show you the photos I wanted to tell you to please keep watching my blog and my Facebook pages this year. I have a really good feeling about this year and I have so many ideas in my head for new paintings, art dolls and spookies! One new thing I am doing this year is getting a make over for my home page. I also have a wonderful artist Dave Everett of Chicken lips creating a perfectly sweet banner and graphics for my pages! I will also be able to send out professional photo cards to my customers which I am totally thrilled about!
This august I have been invited by Robbie Thomas a well known psychic to attend the American Canada Paranormal Convention! I will be setting up a both with my work and meeting all kinds of people! I have never been out of the USA before so I am honestly thrilled! I will post more about the convention later with dates and ticket prices and so on.
I also have some things going on in the background of SPooky Hollow that I hope I can share with you very soon! One goal I have with my art is to be able to open up the farm to the public a few times a year! Especially in the fall when Halloween is in the air! I would like to do a show of my art and add some creepy fun while we are at it! Haunted Hayrides and corn mazes would be wonderful!! This spring I am going to work in the greenhouse and get some veggies, pumpkins, herbs exspecially lavendar going. So I have so many exciting things I am trying to make happen this year. I do want to thank the friends I have made online, the fans on my Facebook and of course buyers for your emails, support and kind words I get just about daily!

Ok novel over and here are the photos!
( Don't forget that I have 2 art dolls also up for auction in my Ebay store! Grim in the box and Grimmy & Wormy sculptures! )
Here is the link for the new painting! Click here for Creepin around the Graveyard!

Thank you for taking the time to read this long blog post and have a creepy cute day!
