In Memory of Salem kitty

I know I have been a terrible blogger lately but I have been very busy creating new work for my shops and doing some commission work. This week I am dedicating to getting all these creations listed in my Ebay and Etsy shops finally. Below I will post some photos of some new goodies but I also wanted to dedicated todays blog to my black cat Salem. She passed away yesterday and I know this sounds foolish but my heart really hurts. I miss her and it was so sudden we don't understand what happened. She was acting like she wasn't feeling well Friday night and yesterday morning I went to go check on her and she has passed away in her favorite spot. So Along with pics of new work and things I wanted to show some of my favorite photos of Salem.
She was a very unusual cat because she had buck teeth. She took the best photos because of that and she was the inspiration for my cartoon character Salem the cat that you find in many of my Spooky Hollow paintings.
Here are the photos and I promise my next blog will be more cheery. I am also going to make a special Halloween ornament dedicated to Salem and will post it as soon as I am finished.

Salem made the cutest hang tags ever

I made this sign because of her name and sold about 3 of them last year.

This was a vintage record box I did a long time ago. My characters have changed a lot since then.

Salem was in sooooo many of my paintings and pieces. Every black cat I drew, painted or formed out of clay was a little image of Salem.

The large Paper clay black cat was also inspired by Salem along with Vintage Halloween cats.

Salem always did something to make us laugh!

She was more then happy to pose for the Camera

I did this paper mache Salem about 2 years ago. The pictures below are just a very few new pieces I will be listing for sale in my shops this week.

Both black and white illustrations below are being painted in today. I am working on a series of Fairy Tale illustrations and ornament made from my drawings. The cartoon below with Grimmy and the rabbit from Alice in wonderland will be painted on a small canvas frame.

There are so many new pieces I still want to show you but I am going to get them listed first.

Thanks for looking at all my pics especially the Salem ones.

Salem...WE LOVE YOU!

So sorry to hear about your cat. I know how important pets can be, not only for our inspiration, but also everyday life.

My condolences. I know how deeply these feline companions quietly burrow their way into our hearts. Salem will obviously be missed, but I hope you soon find another.
